Carbon Reduction Plan

PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in line with the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and the NHS commitment to environmental sustainability.

As a specialist consultancy delivering health psychology, behavioural science, and public health advisory services, PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd recognises the importance of reducing environmental impact while supporting the delivery of high-quality health services.

This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines the organisation’s commitment to measuring, monitoring, and reducing its carbon emissions.

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd provides consultancy, behavioural science expertise, training, and advisory services to healthcare and public sector organisations across the United Kingdom.

The organisation operates using a lean service delivery model, providing services primarily through:

    • Remote consultations and digital service delivery

    • Online training and professional supervision

    • Periodic travel to client organisations where in-person support is required

This approach already reduces carbon emissions by minimising infrastructure requirements and limiting unnecessary travel.

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd is in the process of establishing its environmental reporting framework.

Due to the absence of historical emissions reporting, 2026 will serve as the baseline year for measuring the organisation’s carbon footprint.

Emissions will be monitored and reported annually thereafter.

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd recognises the importance of monitoring emissions across the following categories:

    1. Scope 1 – Direct Emissions

Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources.

At present, the organisation does not operate owned facilities or company vehicles, and therefore Scope 1 emissions are minimal.

    2. Scope 2 – Indirect Energy Emissions

Indirect emissions associated with electricity consumption linked to professional activities carried out in remote working environments.

    3. Scope 3 – Other Indirect Emissions

Other indirect emissions related to organisational activities including:

    • Business travel to client organisations

    • Procurement of IT equipment and digital services

    • Cloud computing and video conferencing platforms used for service delivery

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd already incorporates several practices that reduce environmental impact:

    • Remote-first service delivery, reducing the need for travel

    • Digital documentation and paperless systems

    • Video conferencing for meetings, supervision, and consultancy

    • Efficient travel planning to minimise journeys

  • The organisation will continue to strengthen its sustainability practices through:

    • Prioritising remote delivery of services where clinically appropriate

    • Encouraging efficient travel planning and use of lower-carbon transport options where feasible

    • Selecting energy-efficient IT equipment

    • Monitoring and reviewing travel-related emissions annually

    • Integrating environmental considerations into organisational decision-making as the company grows

  • PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd commits to developing its carbon reporting capability and will:

    • Establish a baseline carbon footprint by 2027

    • Monitor emissions related to travel, energy use, and operational activities

    • Review and update this Carbon Reduction Plan annually

Given the organisation’s consultancy-based operating model, emissions monitoring will initially focus on the key areas most relevant to the organisation’s activities.

  • Responsibility for implementing and reviewing this Carbon Reduction Plan rests with theDirectors of PK Healthcare Consulting Ltd.

The plan will be reviewed annually and updated as required to ensure continued progress towards Net Zero.
